For some people, it is very easy to learn WordPress, while for others it can be a bit more difficult. But if you have the right trainer/teacher to guide you when getting started with the platform, you should be able to learn the basics in a few hours.

You must, however, be confident on a computer. If you don’t have basic computer skills you may find it difficult to learn WordPress. If you confidently type out emails and word docs, use excel spreadsheets, navigate the menus of apps to find what you need then that is a good start.

If you are unsure if your skills are at the required level, you are welcome to reach out to discuss. In some instances it may be better to do a Individual Workshop where we can work at your pace.

Yes! Although we cover this as part of the Workshop introduction, if you already have your domain and purchased hosting, then you don’t need to worry about this section of the training.

These workshops start from the very beginning on how to build a website. Depending on how much involvement you had with the creation of your current website, you may find you know a lot of the information already.

If you were handed over a new website but have little knowledge on how to make minor edits and changes to it, this workshop could be a good option to learn the basics of how to build a website. You could build a different website on a subdomain if you don’t want your existing website to be changed.

Please note existing websites are likely to be built with a completely different theme and plugins to the ones that we teach and use. Therefore we won’t be able to go through your website specifically and fix any problems during a group workshop. If you want more assistance with your existing website, a Digital Day may be a more suitable option.

Once signed up, participants will be given a workbook to prepare their content before the workshop commences.

If you’ve already tried to delve into the world of WordPress, you might have realised that there are thousands of WordPress themes to choose from! That is an overwhelming number if you are just starting out.

For this workshop, we will use the free version of the theme Kadence WP which I like to describe as a framework theme. There is also a premium version available that has extra features and more advanced functionality, but for most small business websites, the free version of Kadence will do the job nicely.

If you are looking for more theme alternatives, then you might consider Blocksy which is my next go-to favourite, otherwise WP Astra is another popular option.
